Why did you become an author?

Because I love to tell stories!

Are there people out there that inspire you and your works?

Many, many!

Are there any Villains in your stories that you are very

fond of as characters?

I tend to like the villains best, mainly because I view them as anti-heroes. Raistlin, Kitiara, Sir Henry Wallace are among my favorites.

You have recently become involved with a a new web series

Brothers Barbian. How did you get involved with

this new Web Series?

I have the fortune or misfortune :) to be a friend of Ken Whitman's!

What is the Brothers Barbarian show about?

Beats the heck out of me! LOL! No, really it's about two middle age barbarians who want to be young again. As the Evil Witch, I stole their youth.

Your company Margaret Weis Productions has started to release

some Role-playing Games like the Leverage RPG (one of my

favorite shows) and I just saw that you got the license to

do a Marvel RPG. Would you like to talk about those a little

bit?

I have a great head of development, Cam Banks, who is in charge of RPG production. I just get to have fun playing them! Seriously, we are so fortunate as to be developing RPGs for our favorite lines.

Leverage the Roleplaying Game!

Do you have a favorite work out of all of the things you have

written?

That's like asking a mother which child is her favorite. I love them all for different reasons. Probably the best answer is that my favorite is the book I'm currently working on.

What do you think of being one of the early creative forces

not only behind Dragon Lance but of Dungeons and Dragons in

general?

We had so much fun! What else can I say?

When you are writing do you ever wonder if people are going

to like the finished project or buy it in general?

Well, I always hope they do!

How is writing with a partner different from writing on your

own?

It's great to have someone to talk over the plot, discuss ideas, work through problems. And it's a lot of fun.

If you could give some advice to everyone on the planet what

would it be?

Get over yourselves!

Being a breast cancer survivor could you share with us some

advice about overcoming adversity?

The advice someone gave me: Soldier on.

Do you have any current projects that you are working on

that you would like to share with us?

I am working on Storm Riders, Volume 2 in the Dragon Brigade series. Magic, gunpowder, floating continents, demons, saints, swashbuckling action.

Any final parting words you would like to share with us?

*Keep reading. Keep writing. Keep your day job.

This Interview was conducted by Eldon Krosch Jr. with Margaret Weis by email between October 23rd & October 26th 2011.
